ENGLAND

If you are looking for top quality golf courses in relatively close proximity to each other there are few better places to turn to than England, yet it is often overlooked when planning a golf trip. After the USA and Scotland it is the third highest country for appearances in the world top 100 and there are several areas which make a fantastic venue for a golf tour.

How about basing yourself in Canterbury and playing the phenomenal Royal St Georges, the delightful Cinque Ports and Princes? Closer to London - there are a whole host of great names engrained in golfing lore - Sunningdale, Walton Heath, Swinley Forest and other great courses.

The North West of England is another fantastic area. Hoylake is a great test, Lytham a bit of a slog but still worth playing and the jewel in the crown is Royal Birkdale - for me, one of the best links courses I have played. Liverpool and Blackpool make for superb locations for a night out as well and they have many of the ingredients of a perfect golf trip.

Pretty much wherever you look in England you will find something worth playing. I’ve still only scratched the surface but hopefully you’ll find some inspiration here!
