IRELAND - SEPTEMBER 2025

I'm delighted to offer this rather special trip to Ireland in September 2025.

The Open returns to Royal Portrush next year, and we will be walking in the steps of legends when we play the course just six weeks after the tournament. We will also play Royal County Down - consistently rated one of the very best courses in the world.

Add in rounds at Ardglass, Portstewart, St Patrick's Links, The Island and The European and this has all the makings of a great trip.

We are staying at excellent hotels throughout and several group meals are included. These trips are a great way to meet like-minded souls while enjoying some of the best courses in the world. I hope you can join!

SUNDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER 2025

We will depart from Dublin airport at 10am.

We will be transported for the duration of your trip in a luxury bus with tables to sit around, reclining leather seats and a well stocked bar!

Our first stop will be a round at Ardglass. With a stunning clubhouse dating to 1405, sea views, rugged clifftop land, and routing around a headland that starts and ends in town Ardglass is quite an experience!

After the round we will head to the 5 star Slieve Donard hotel, our home for the next two nights. We will have a group meal tonight in the hotel.

MONDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER

You can take it easy this morning, sleep off the jetlag or enjoy the spa before walking over to Royal County Down. No matter what ranking list you look at, Royal County Down is going to be high up. It is truly one of the world’s great golf courses and today will be one of those rounds you remember for the rest of your life!

TUESDAY 9TH SEPTEMBER

We will check out of the Slieve Donard this morning and head north-west. This afternoon we will have a round at Portstewart. Set in magnificent dunes, this is a must-play when in the Portrush area.

After our round we will check into the newly refurbished Adelphi hotel, in the heart of Portrush. We will have a group meal together this evening.

WEDNESDAY 10TH SEPTEMBER

It’s a bit of a drive this morning as we head south to Donegal and the wonderful St Patrick’s Links at Rosapenna. Tom Doak’s course may be young but it has already gone into the world’s top 50 - a remarkable achievement for a remarkable course.

After the round we will have a bite to eat at Rosapenna before heading back to Portrush.

THURSDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER

For those who would like, we will spend this morning having a look around this beautiful area - including a trip to the Giant's Causeway. This afternoon we will play Royal Portrush. It’s one of the world’s best links courses and we will have the pleasure of playing it just a few weeks after the 2025 Open.

FRIDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER

It’s an early checkout this morning followed by a drive back to Dublin. This afternoon we will play The Island. The course flies under the radar a little, but everyone who plays it comes away wondering why it’s not talked about more! The dunes serve to frame the holes and lead you through the, sometimes narrow, ribbons of fairways..

After the round we will head into Dublin where we will be spending the next two nights at the four star Radisson Blu hotel in the heart of the city.

We’ll have a meal together tonight, and maybe enjoy a few pints of Guinness!

SATURDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER

We will head an hour out of Dublin today for the last round of the trip, at The European Club. This modern links has won plaudits for its design and will be a great finishing place for the trip.

This evening we will enjoy a last meal together and we will crown the champion golfer!

SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER

The hotel will be able to arrange taxis for your departure from nearby Dublin airport

· A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking, with the balance due 90 days before travel

WHO IS A UKGOLFGUY TRIP AIMED AT?

It's a very broad church!! Basically if you love playing great golf courses and exploring new places I’m pretty sure you will have a great time.

Often singles come along - you may find your friends aren't quite as passionate as you to discover new courses and this is a great way to meet like-minded souls.

Groups of friends do come too and that's great - the only thing I ask is that you are prepared to break your group up sometimes to play with others on the trip so we can mix things up a bit. But don't worry, I'll make sure you get to play with your travelling companions plenty too.

I run a few little competitions over the course of the trip but they are just for fun really - the focus here is on the courses and camaraderie rather than winning a trophy. If you'd rather not take part in that element, that's absolutely fine too.

So wherever you come from, whatever your golf is like - the most important thing is that you play at a good pace with a smile on your face wherever possible!
